Privacy Policy

DataBiz (“DataBiz Academy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an online training platform that simulates business stakeholder conversations and an in-browser SQL workspace for data-analyst learners. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored and shared, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to visitors of our website and users of our platform, wherever you are located, including the United States and Israel.

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you use social sign-in, basic profile information from that provider (via Supabase Authentication). Your account and its use of the Service are governed by our Terms of Service.

Payment information. Subscription and purchase payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. We do not collect or store full card numbers ourselves — Lemon Squeezy handles payment data directly and shares with us only what is needed to manage your access (e.g. transaction status, product variant, billing email).

Training and usage data. As you use the platform, we collect the SQL queries you write, your messages to the AI Trainer, your progress through each case study, and related conversation state, so the training experience can resume where you left off.

Technical data. We automatically collect limited technical information — such as IP address, browser type, device information, and error/performance events — through our infrastructure and error-monitoring provider.

Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and essential site functionality. See Section 6 below.

• To create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
• To operate the AI Trainer and SQL workspace, and save your progress.
• To process payments and manage your access.
• To monitor, debug, and improve the reliability and security of the platform.
• To communicate with you about your account, billing, or support requests.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your messages to the AI Trainer, and the SQL queries you submit for evaluation, are sent to OpenAI’s API to generate the Trainer’s responses and feedback. This processing is automated: there is no routine human review of individual conversations, and no fully-automated decision from this processing produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you (it only drives your in-app learning experience). The AI Trainer provides educational coaching only — it is not professional, legal, or financial advice.

We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate the platform, under obligations to protect it, and never for their own marketing purposes:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• OpenAI — powers the AI Trainer’s conversation and SQL evaluation.
• Lemon Squeezy — payment processing, tax compliance, and merchant of record services.
• Vercel and Railway — hosting for our frontend and backend infrastructure.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to the same protections described in this policy.

We currently use only cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication and essential site functionality. For more information, please see our Cookie Policy.

Our service providers process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. If you access DataBiz Academy from Israel or elsewhere outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as contractual protections with our processors) for these transfers.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. For more detail on how we protect your data, see our Security page.

If a data breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users and, where required, relevant regulators without undue delay and in accordance with applicable law.

We retain your account and training data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution requirements. You may request deletion of your data at any time as described in Section 11.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14.

DataBiz Academy is intended for working professionals and adult learners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
